Are you interested in exploring Greek Life and the opportunities it has to offer? Greeks are major contributors to campus life and can have a positive impact in your student experience at Buffalo State College. Fraternities and Sororities promote academic, social and service opportunities for students and unlike most other student organizations, membership in a social fraternity and sorority is normally a lifetime affiliation. The skills, friendships and other benefits of being a member of a social Greek lettered organization go well beyond as a graduate of Buffalo State. Greek Life has the potential to further develop your interpersonal, leadership and organizational management skills that are highly valued in the professional world.
If interested, you must begin by both inquiring and researching the chapter that best fits you as a person. The umbrella organizations that lead the Greek activities at Buffalo State College are the Inter-Greek Association, National Pan Hellenic Council and the National Panhellenic Conference.
The Inter-Greek Association (IGA) is the governing body for Buffalo State College Greek-lettered organizations. The purpose of IGA is to represent, advocate, regulate, promote cooperation, and further both the interests and welfare of Greek Life. IGA is also responsible for promoting the ideas of brotherhood and sisterhood in the workings of each individual organization.
