The Judicial Hearing:
A judicial hearing is heard before the Greek Judicial Board, a peer-based representative body, created to serve as a hearing panel for fraternity and sorority related disciplinary incidents. The Greek Judicial Board is charged with hearing and evaluating charges, questioning participants on matters directly germane to the case, making judgements of responsibility, and making final determinations of sanctions in cases of responsible verdicts.
Judicial Hearings are closed to the public and observers are not allowed. The complainant, the accused student organization and the judicial board have the privilege of presenting witnesses that are subject questioning by the judicial body. It is the responsibility of both the complainants and the responding student organization to notify witnesses of the time and place of the judicial hearing. After the hearing concludes, the Greek Judicial Board determines by a simple majority plus one vote of those present, if the student organization has violated any section of the Code of Conduct.
