The Office of International Education will develop a budget for the study tour to Puerto Rico based on the estimated expenses for the trip. The anticipated cost is between $3500.00 and $3800.00. The budget includes roundtrip airfare to Puerto Rico, lodging, meals, land and water transportation, admission fees, entertainment and a limited amount for personal expenses. The Financial Aid Office cannot determine your award unless you have completed the FAFSA for 2006-2007.
Study abroad scholarships are available for undergraduates with a GPA of 3.0 or better (application deadline April 1). You can also search the Internet to identify funding. The Scholarship Office (Cleveland Hall 211A) has a listing of additional resources for which you may apply.  Since students will be registered at Buffalo State, the scholarships do not need to be earmarked for study abroad.
Support from businesses and non-profit organizations, sororities, fraternities, student organizations, bake sales, personal savings and/or gifts or loans from relatives are other ways in which students have secured funds for overseas programs.
