Federal Stafford Loans
Federal Stafford Loans are
available for summer study under the following terms and conditions:
Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
TAP awards
cannot be used as a deferment for summer sessions. TAP awards for summer are
reimbursed at a later date for all qualified applicants. To be eligible to
receive TAP in the summer a student is now required to have completed 24
credits in the previous two semesters.
Federal Pell
Grant
Pell grants are available in the summer for those
undergraduate students who qualify and have not exhausted their annual
eligibility (two full-time semesters or its equivalent). August or December
graduates may be eligible to receive a Federal Pell by submitting the 2007-2008
FAFSA. However, if they do not graduate as planned then they may have reduced
or no eligibility for the spring 2008 semester. Pell recipients must be
matriculated and can receive grants even for less than half-time study. Pell
funds can be used as a deferment against tuition and fees but disbursement of
funds begins in the latter part of August.

York, the availability of summer session courses is dependent upon a minimum
number of paid registrations. If a course must be canceled due to insufficient
enrollment, affected students will be notified by mail. They will be given an
