The Teacher Certification Office recommends Buffalo State graduates to the New York State Department of Education for teacher certification after they have completed an approved teacher preparation program. The Teacher Certification Office also verifies program completion for graduates applying for out-of-state certification and serves as a resource for a variety of teacher certification related topics.

EXAM REQUIREMENTS - Candidates graduating in May 2013 or after should wait for the new exams to be available before beginning testing. CLICK HERE for more information.
FINGERPRINTING - Fingerprint packets are no longer available in the Teacher Certification Office. Students wishing to be fingerprinted must submit a fingerprint application on TEACH and wait for NYSED to mail fingerprint cards to them. CLICK HERE for directions to submit a fingerprint application.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT DAY - If you are Student Teaching in the Spring 2012 semester, you are required to attend Career Development Day on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 8:00am - 3:30pm. CLICK HERE for more information.
