The Professional Certificate is the current equivalent of the Permanent Certificate. The requirements for Professional Certification are as follows:
- Completion of an appropriate Master's degree
- Three years of full-time teaching experience
- Mentored experience
- Completed application on the TEACH website
- Signed Release Authorization Form submitted to the Teacher Certification Office.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS
Professional Certificate holders are expected to complete 175 hours of Professional Development (PD) every 5 years. Your 5 year PD cycle begins July 1 following the effective date of your Professional Certificate. Your Professional Certificate is continuously valid, provided the appropriate number of PD hours have been reported to your TEACH account at the end of your PD cycle.
