In this section, students in the Fashion and Textile Technology program describe the importance of an internship or international experience to their future career.
Jennifer Sidoni is an Apparel Design major at Buffalo State College. While pursuing her degree, Jennifer interned in the Softgoods Engineering Department at Fisher-Price headquarters in East Aurora, N.Y.:
"The Fashion and Textile program at Buffalo State is wonderful and I’ve learned so much, but some things you can’t learn in a classroom. I feel that it is important to learn as much as you can about all aspects of the textile industry and working at Fisher-Price has allowed me to do just that. Everyone at Fisher-Price has been extremely helpful and I feel very lucky to have had this experience. Being in the internship program has made me much more confident in my abilities and I truly feel that having this internship under my belt will give me a better chance at a fulfilling career."
