Workshop for Title III staff and Mathematics faculty
On May 15 and 16 we held a workshop facilitated by Dan Apple of Pacific Crest. The purpose of the workshop was to clarify the desired outcomes of our project, promote cooperation between the Title III project and the Mathematics department, and articulate methods by which we would assess our progress and success.
Workshop for MAT 103 Instructors
During the week of May 22 through May 26 a workshop was held for those mathematics instructors who would be teaching MAT 103 using the Heart of Mathematics curriculum by Edward Burger and Michael Starbird. The first three days of the workshop were facilitated by Dr. Burger himself, the fourth day by Candice Dance who has used the curriculum at Onondaga Community College, and the last day was a working session for the instructors to plan for the implementation of the new curriculum in the fall.
2007
In 2007 all three working groups will be sponsoring a workshop with the content and focus to be determined during the 2006-07 academic year.
