Legerdemain, a film created by students in associate professor Lou Rera’s TFA 420: Producing Short Films II class won the Audience Award at the third annual SUNY-wide Film Festival held October 13-15 at SUNY Fredonia. Read more.

TFA hosted Tom Fontana, Buffalo State grad and Emmy Award-winning writer, producer, and Kyle Bradstreet, Buffalo State grad and writer, for a screening of the first two episodes of Fontana's new show, Borgia. A Q&A with Tom and Kyle followed the screening.

Students in the television and film arts (TFA) were treated to a meet and greet with famed director/actor Spike Lee. Lee came to Buffalo State’s Performing Arts Center to deliver his lecture, “America through My Lens,” to a sold-out crowd.Approximately 30 TFA majors met with the director in Campus House’s board room prior to his speech. Lee offered the students insights on pursuing filmmaking degrees and discussed how modern technology is changing the art form. Read more.
