Exit the airport following signs for Rt. 33 West West . Stay on Rt. 33 for approximately 5.5 miles. Exit onto Rt. 198 West (Scajaquada Expressway). Stay on expressway approximately 2.2 miles. Exit at Elmwood Avenue South. Turn right at end of ramp onto Elmwood and right onto campus at Rockwell Road (2nd traffic light). Park in Faculty/Staff or Student spaces. Do not park in pay lot
From Toronto Pearson International Airport By Car (90 Miles)
Highway 427 South to the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) West toward Hamilton and Niagara Falls. Continue past Hamilton and Niagara Falls to Fort Erie where the QEW ends at the Peace Bridge. See directions from Peace Bridge above.
From Downtown Holiday Inn By Car
Leave parking lot and make a left on Delaware Avenue heading north. Make a left on any nearby street and then make a right onto Elmwood Avenue (next major street) north. Continue north on Elmwood until you reach Buffalo State College on your left. This is a 2.5 mile (8 minute) drive.

Public Transportation
Local Bus and Subway Schedules Vary By Time and Date (getting "from here to there" by Bus and Subway in Buffalo is often not possible late at night). For customized travel directions based on your arrival time at the airport, train or bus station, please use the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's Online Trip Planner. Using public transport in Buffalo, especially at night, often entails long waits. Subways operate on the "honor system" -- be sure to buy and hold a ticket.
Amtrak
Please note that Amtrak has two stations in Buffalo. The downtown "Exchange Street" station (dubbed by locals as the "Amshed") is closer to Buffalo State College than the suburban "Depew" station, which trains from the east pass through first. Please note that some trains from the east with final destinations of Toronto and Niagara Falls only stop at the Depew station before veering north -- they do not stop at Exchange Street. Chicago and Detroit bound trains DO stop at Exchange Street. The Exchange Street station, however, is often deserted at night. It is a two block walk (to the left) to the subway, which runs above ground and resembles a trolly. You will be heading north (to the right). Taxis usually meet the train at either station. The Amtrak ride from Depew to Exchange Street offers a post industrial view of Buffalo, passing through Buffalo's abandoned Central Terminal.

Taxi rides from the Buffalo/Niagara International Airport to Buffalo State cost approximately $28 during the day and $33 at night (plus tip). Taxi info available from Airport Taxi. Clean taxis meet all incoming flights 24/7 and are available for return trips to the airport 24/7.
Mini busses travel between Toronto's Pearson International Airport (approximately 100 miles) and Buffalo. Information is available from Niagara Airbus (800) 268-8111. Service, however, is limited in May and costs more than auto rental.
Bicycle Directions To Buffalo State College:
From Canada: The Trans-Canada Trail from both the east and west brings you to the border town of Fort Erie, Ontario. Continue along the lake shore from the west or the river shore from the east to the Peace Bridge. Enter the bicycle/pedestrian walk from Mather Arch Park on the west side of the bridge. After crossing, park your bicycle outside at US customs and enter building to clear customs and immigration. Then follow signs (bear left across most traffic) for Porter Avenue. Make left on Porter and continue to traffic circle. Exit circle (3rd exit) on Bike Lane on Richmond Avenue heading north (Richmond begins here). Continue to end of Richmond. Make right onto Forest Avenue at stop sign and a Left onto Elmwood at light. The college will be on your left.
From the East (road): NY 5 ("Main Street") from Albany into Buffalo. Make a right at subway station onto Amherst Street in Buffalo. Left at church after zoo onto Nottingham Drive. Left on Elmwood. Buffalo State is on your right. Enter on Rockwell Road.
From the East (trail): Erie Canal Trail to Niagara River Trail (City of Tonawanda). Left (south) on Niagara River Trail. At Army Corps of Engineers, continue south on sidewalk of Niagara Street under train bridge and around corner to right. Cross Niagara Street at light end enter Scajaquada Creek trail in back of small parking lot (semi-abandoned bar). Continue on trail until Grant Street (supermarket). Turn right. Buffalo State will be on your left.
