Official Up to Date Border Crossing Requirements are Available from the US Government Here

The friendly open border that has bisected our international metropolitan region no longer exists in its pre-Bush form. Crossing the post-Bush border from Canada now requires that US and Canadian citizens present valid passports or passport cards. While a combination of government-issued ids and an original birth certificate technically suffices until May 31st, we strongly recommend using a passport or passport card (no stamps issued at land crossing). Citizens from other countries entering the US should consult the US Government Site linked Here. US citizens who anticipate a possible side trip to the Canadian side of our bi-national community should bring passports.

The US Canadian Border bisects the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. Haudenosaunee citizens are guaranteed by international treaty the right to cross the border freely in exchange for the right of US and Canadian Citizens to cross Haudenosaunee territory. US border agents currently require either proof of US or Canadian dual citizenship, or proof of Haudenosaunee identity in the form of a Canadian Government issued Certificate of Indian Status Card. Haudenosaunee Grand Council representatives are currently demanding that the US government accept Haudenosaunee Passports at US controlled border crossings.
