The health and wellness program prepares undergraduate students to assume roles as health/wellness professionals in private business and industry, community organizations, and healthcare environments. Students will be able to administer effective health/wellness programs in organizations that advance preventive medicine and positive lifestyle habits. Concentrations are available in adult fitness, social issues, and site-based health promotion.

Graduates are competent in diverse aspects of health promotion and illness prevention. They provide educational services to adult employees and clients as coordinators, managers, or trainers in health and wellness programs sponsored by employers, health maintenance organizations, and community groups.
Graduates have been hired as corporate wellness directors, wellness program administrators, certified personal trainers, wellness programmers, directors of campus health and wellness services, and coordinators of health and wellness programming. Typical hiring firms include large industrial firms, adult education programs, community health agencies, national nonprofit agencies, resorts, health spas, government health agencies, colleges, and insurance companies.
Recent graduates have been hired by companies such as the Ford Motor Company, DuPont, American Axle and Manufacturing, Independent Health, Westwood-Squibb, Becker Advertising (health-related sales), Binghamton University, the Wellness Institute of Western New York, the American Lung Association, World Gym, the Village Glen Tennis and Fitness Club, and the Buffalo Athletic Club.
