An Introduction to ARTstor

What is ARTstor? 

"ARTstor is a digital library of more than one million images in the areas of art, architecture, the humanities, and social sciences with a set of tools to view, present, and manage images for research and pedagogical purposes." (from http://www.artstor.org)

Where can I find ARTstor?
Begin on the
E. H Butler Library Web site and click on Research at the top of the page.  From the drop-down list, select Databases.  Choose All Databases by Title, click on 'A,' and scroll down to find ARTstor. If you are using an off-campus computer, select the "Off-campus access" option.  ARTstor can also be found in the Arts and Humanities section under All Databases by Subject.

Getting Started/Registration
Click on Go in the top right corner to enter the ARTstor digital library at http://www.artstor.org
This will bring you to the Home page where you can register by using your Buffalo State College email address and a password of your choice.  Registration will enable full use of ARTstor (saving image groups, adding personal notes, etc.).  You may also begin exploring ARTstor by searching and browsing for images via the Home page.
