Chart & Update: Apr 19th, 2011

Hey everyone,

So this week hasn't been too great. I got in trouble for borrowing some equipment from the station for a show around the corner and I'm 'suspended' for 2 weeks (not allowed to hang out or do my shows but I can still do my job so don't worry, the music is still be updated and such!). Got a question for you out there, what do other stations do as punishments aside from suspension? I'd love to hear some ideas so people who get in trouble can still do their radio shows (because I personally don't think that's a good thing for the station) Also, I slept through my alarm Tuesday and missed CMJ. I'm sorry!!! xP Got the charts from my helper a few hours before it closed and wasn't up to put them on. I take the blame on that one xP (told my helper to get them to me at least day early whenever possible just in case, so I shouldn't have any other troubles).
So yeah, kinda icky week, but so much awesome music for Record Store Day! Like, this may be one of the best weeks for new music on WBNY since I've been MD! Thanks for all the stuff everyone! :) Cool to see everything going on at Record Theater & Spiral Scratch Records in town!

I did spend a good 3 hours on making song IDs yesterday to get that going! So everything added this week has a song ID attached to each song on our Automation (computer) when no DJ is on! Wewt wewt! I'll be working to continue this so every song has it's own ID! ^_^
Also, any new station ID's would be awesome!!! I'm going to be attaching them to the song files as well on the computer to get played (have the ones from before fixed up with their songs already). So if any of your acts that we're playing wants to make one up, I'll be sure to get it on! :)
(our ID is "91.3 FM WBNY, Buffalo's Original Alternative", or "91.3 FM WBNY, Buffalo's Original Alternative, brought to you by the Student Activity Fee at Buffalo State College")

I've been spending time watching Obscurus Lupa, oh how she makes me laugh, haha. If you wanna see some of her movie reviews check out: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/teamt/ol/olp
I also started playing some old You Don't Know Jack games, waiting for the new one for X-Box 360 to come in at Play N Trade. Did anyone else grow up with those games? Playing them back I'm now realizing how explicit some of the questions are, haha.
Oh! and I went out to the movies with my gf on Tuesday for her birthday and saw Rio :) Wooo!!!!! Great movie! So worth the 3-D!

There's some cool benefit shows coming up in the area that would love to see support from everyone who can! Wanna do my part and help get the word out :)

(this one is really cool as Mandy K & Sons Of Azrael are coming back together from being broken up just to show support for Damon)

THIS WILL BE AT XTREME WHEELS IN BUFFALO, NY
ADDRESS IS 356 HERTEL AVENUE!
I'm sure almost all of you have heard of the tragic story involving Mike Bird at the Terror show. If you are unfamiliar, he was hit by a stage diver and got seriously injured. He had to be rushed out of the show in an ambulance and received extensive emergency spinal surgery. Tragic enough, he has no medical insurance. He has to pay for ALL OF THIS (Surgery, ambulance, hospital stay, x-rays etc.) out of pocket. With him being in such a critical state, it's almost impossible for him to pay this back by himself. Although this may not be any of your guys' problems, he is a fellow show-goer and needs us brothers (and sisters) in the WNY music scene to help him. Regardless of personal vendettas, if you know him, don't know him, it is all irrelevant at this point. That could have been any of us in his shoes. He just drew the short end of the stick. I'm very sure that if this had happened to any of you, you'd be MORE THAN GRATEFUL FOR ANY ASSISTANCE.

What I'm asking you to do is when the event is made, promote the absolute piss out of it. Ask anyone and everyone.
We are searching for all, and any help with raffles, cooking food, helping with doors, anything at all. Please contact me, or any of the names above to help with this. There is no such thing as too much help.
Come together and make this benefit show the absolute best we can make it.
Thank you so much for your time and help.
It's awesome.

I'm Designer Clothing Company is dedicated to designing awesome shirts and has been bringing good show to the
Buffalo/Niagara Falls area, giving local bands a GREAT opportunity to get their name out there. Unfortunately, the shirts did not have enough pre-orders and the turnout at the shows has not been very great. It is always hard for a new company to start out, I feel that this company must survive this hard time.
