Chart & Update: Oct 12th, 2010

Hi everyone,

How was your week? I had a pretty good week, the homework has just been piling up though xP Ugh, stinky teachers and their extremely long reading assignments. Personally I think reading a book a week for english class is quite rediculous, because I really don't feel like I'm learning anything from them at all. lol. Catching up on E-mails today, now that I'm all caught up on homework ^_^ And I'm learning some cool stuff in my web design class, maybe I'll work on getting a little fancier with the WBNY website ;)
On that note, thanks to Revolver for an awesome interview earlier today! Their new CD 'Music For A While' is really awesome! Missed the interview? You can now download it at: http://www.buffalostate.edu/wbny/podcasts.htm
Along with a our interview with The Hush Now a couple days ago!!! They stopped in our studio before their show in town and were really cool to meet! Check out Shiver Me Starships, awesome CD! And be sure to check em out, both bands are really awesome!

(don't they look like they are having fun? :P)

1st off, I've (once again) increased the amount of adds each week (LOVE that you've been sending over so many awesome CDs and I want to get as many good ones in as I can!) I'm now adding 35 CDs a week (each CD added will generally get 8 weeks of normal play). This will be the final increase in number of adds a week, as that's as many as possibly can fit on our CD rack on the wall XD! lol.
(You're going to like this one), next up, seeing as our Hip Hop Director and RPM Director here at WBNY have not been on top of things recently and haven't been responsive in me pushing to help them, I'll be taking over their CMJ charts for now with the CDs getting played in Rotation that are also going for RPM and Hip Hop adds. Starting next week, these charts will be included in my weekly update (as a Top 10), and posted to CMJ.com :) So, if you've got a CD going for adds in RPM and/or Hip Hop, let me know and I'll count it for those charts as well!
(Loud Rock Adds people can contact our Loud Rock Director Megan Jones by e-mail at: wbnymetal@gmail.com )
Also, I made a new home for our 'Local Selections' section (where old CDs from local Westen New York artists are available for DJs to play), so theres much more space and they are easier to find :)
Due to popular demand (and, well, me really wanting to) 91.3 FM WBNY now has an offical Facebook Page! You can find it by searching Wbny Buffalo Ny (I'm trying to get it to be facebook.com/wbny but it won't let me select it as a nickname for some reason, any suggestions?). It's not much now, as it just got made this week, but any Tumblr and Twitter updates will be posted there also!
Another neat thing, I'm posting this weekly update on the website now, if you'd like to check it out, it's available at: http://www.buffalostate.edu/wbny/charts/101210/
(Links will be placed on the 'Charts' section of the website probably this week so you can find your way to my updates if you lose any of my e-mails!)

We've got some cool interviews coming up, if you'd like to tune in!
10/15 - 1pm - Ami Saraiya
10/22 - about 1pm - Sweatin' Like Nixon
10/29 - 1:30pm - Venona (acoustic in-studio performance)
(these are subject to change without notice, as different circumstances may arise with WBNY and/or the artist(s))
(Keep an eye in or Twitter feed for the newest interview updates @WBNYMusic, also available to view on our webiste at: http://www.buffalostate.edu/wbny/news/)
And as always, let me know if you'd like to set up something with any artists you may work with! :)

If you're looking to catch up on CDs that you've sent over, remember my online documents are just a click away at: http://www.buffalostate.edu/wbny/contact/
Or you can always shoot me and e-mail or call during my office hours! I may not be in this Thursday as there's an extra credit assignment for my English class to go watch a speaker that is coming to campus and write 2 pages about what she talks about. So, if you don't catch me Thursday, I'll definetly be there Friday! :)

To the charts! :)
