Mandatory Health Insurance Policy:
All full time students are required to have health insurance.
Students who have their own insurance are required to complete an online waiver to avoid being enrolled in the college's health insurance plan. The deadline to waive out of the health insurance plan for Fall is September 30, 2009. No exceptions.

Buffalo State College requires all full time students to have health insurance.
Students registered for 12 credit hours or more, (undergraduate and graduate) are automatically enrolled into Buffalo State College's Health Insurance Plan and their Student Account charged $1395 for the health insurance premium for the Annual plan.
Details for the Health Insurance Policy for the 2008-2009 Academic year
Buffalo State College Health Insurance is administered by Consolidated Health Plans. For more information on the BSC Health Insurance Plan, click on the link above and go to "Benefit Brochure" - click on the year to review plan details.
The 2008-2009 Annual Plan premium is $1,3,95 (includes $20 administrative fee) for coverage from August 13, 2009 to August 12, 2010.
The 2010 Spring-Summer premium is $790 (includes $20 administrative fee) for coverage from January 22, 2010to August 12, 2010.
Students with their own private health insurance are required to complete an online waiver. (You will need to have your insurance card available to provide proof of insurance information on the waiver.) Completing the waiver removes the student from enrollment in the Buffalo State College Health Insurance Plan and eliminates the charges for the health insurance from their student acount provided medical or pharmacy claims have not been submitted.
Student who fail to complete the waiver by the deadline will be charged for the BSC Insurance Plan. There are no extensions to this deadline.
Students who have previously waived and have lost their insurance must request to be enrolled per Buffalo State College Mandated Insurance Policy.
Students who waive the Buffalo State College Health Insurance are eligible to use the services provided at the health center. Weigel Health Center is funded by the Student Health Fee, which is separate from the BSC Health Insurance Plan.
Part time students
Part time students must request enrollment by contacting Weigel Health Center during Open Enrollment. The premium for part time students for Spring/Summer 2009 is $790, the same as full time students. The deadline to enroll February 24, 2010.
