Students who have their own insurance are required to complete an online waiver to avoid being enrolled in the college's health insurance plan. The deadline to waive out of the health insurance plan for Fall  is September 30th and  Spring is February 24th.

The waiver to opt out of the College Insurance plan for Fall 2013 will be available May 27, 2013.

Buffalo State College Health Insurance is currently administered by Consolidated Health Plans. The 2012 Annual plan covers from August 13, 2012 to August 12, 2013. Premium is $1,924 which includes a $20 administravie fee.  The Premium for Spring-Summer  which covers from  January 22, 2013 to August 12, 2013 is $1,086 which includes a $20 administrative fee.

Students registered for 12 credit hours or more, (undergraduate and graduate) are automatically enrolled into Buffalo State College's Health Insurance Plan and their Student  Account will be charged for the health insurance premium. Students with their own private health insurance are required to complete an Online Health Insurance Waiver Form [a link to waive the insurance is available in May for Fall and in December for Spring]. You will need to have your  insurance card available to provide proof of insurance information on the waiver. Completing the waiver removes the student from enrollment in the Buffalo State College Health Insurance Plan and eliminates the charges for the health insurance from their student account provided medical or pharmacy claims have not been submitted.

Students who fail to complete the waiver by the deadline will be charged for the BSC Insurance Plan. There are no extensions to this deadline.

Students who waive the Buffalo State College Health Insurance are eligible to use the services provided at the health center. Weigel Health Center is funded by the Student Health Fee, which is separate from the BSC Health Insurance Plan.
