Join the Spring 2012 Women and Gender Book Club to Discuss

  Dude, You're a Fag: Masculinity and Sexuality in High School

How do young people navigate gender identity and sexuality?  How do their often narrow views on masculinity, gender expression, and sexual orientation affect their interactions and potentially lead to damaging behaviors such as bullying?  Join the Women and Gender Studies Book Club to discuss read the winner of the 2008 American Education Research Association's Outstanding Book Award and discuss these important issues.

 

Meeting Dates:

 

The book club will meet three times to discuss the book and related issues.  Meetings will take place in Classroom Building A400. 

Friday, March 2, 2:30-4:00pm 

Sunday, March 4, 7:00-9:00pm  Pizza party with author, C.J. Pascoe 

Friday, April 6, 2:30-4:00pm

Friday, April 20, 2:30-4:00pm 

 

How to Join:

 

Free copies of the book are available for the first 20 students who join the book club.  To join, please contact Dr. Jenn Hunt or Dr. Staci Newmahr as soon as possible.   You also can find the club on facebook and download a flyer.
