The University Police are located in Chase Hall.
Safety Measures are in place, on and off campus.
The Buffalo State campus community receives ongoing training as part of our emergency response plan.
University Police
Campus Safety Patrols
University police officers are on duty 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The University Police maintain safety by patrolling the campus, responding to emergencies, and notifying the college community of unusual events. Bicycle, foot, and vehicle patrols enable officers to monitor and maintain security on campus, and promote contact between the campus community and university police officers.
Blue Light Phones
The Blue Light Telephone System reaches the University Police quickly and is available from 36 locations around campus. University Police can identify the caller's location immediately.
The Campus Community
Residence Halls
All residence halls are locked 24 hours a day and equipped with an alarm system. Security cameras monitor residence hall entrances.
In addition, University Police student assistants are stationed in designated residence halls to check identification and report unusual activity to University Police.
Safe escort programs
Personal walking escorts, late-night shuttle service, and motorist assist services are available free of charge to all students, faculty, and staff.

NY-Alert
NY-Alert is a voluntary system available for Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff members that delivers text messages, automated phone messages, e-mails, and faxes when there is an immediate or severe threat to the physical health and safety of campus constituents.
The system is also designed to inform the campus community of campus closings due to weather or major utility failures.
